I reminisced about the Rubiks cube and get off on a rant because of security risk I saw at a local restaurant.  After that, it just went down hill.  Let's see, some guy is suing Facebook for ownership, what to do when your parents join Facebook, how a woman went one year without sex (her choice) and wrote a book about it, why NEVER to talk to the cops or you get tasered, sending racy texts, how Obama compares to Hitler (FYI, they don't), a short bit on European nudes and I end on a high note - passports going to sex offenders. This week Regis Jack talks about Despicable Me (in 2D), Shutter Island (on BD), Let The Right One In (Netflix streaming) and some crap about Apple. So I saw 3 movies this week, the first season of Better Off Ted (on Netflix Streaming), and I watched parts of some movies, but stopped when they sucked really bad (like Paranormal Entity - a rip off movie if there ever was one).  I've seen all of Better Off Ted before, but it was great to see them again. Despicable Me in non-eye popping 2d, was pretty good.  It had a cute story, but the funnies parts were shown in the preview - which bothers me.  They need to show scenes in trailers but NOT the best moments.  It's good for kids and adults.  Nuff said here. Shutter Island was, well, not bad.  It had some cool scenes, but tried to be suspenseful, but wasn't.  It also had inconsistencies within scenes, many mistakes and a story that wasn't really had to see coming - from the first scene.  Still, it's worth watching - it's not bad. Now the movie Let The Right One In was very cool.  It's a vampire movie - sort of.  I felt it was actually a child relationship movie about two 12 year old kids, one of which is a vampire.  This movie has high ratings on Netflix, which surprises me.  This movie is more drama than horror and has very quiet moments - not a typical popular movie.  The most important part is to see this film in the original Swedish with  subtitles - DO NOT WATCH THE DUBBED VERSION.  Every bad review I read seems to be from people who watched dubbed versions. The rest of the cast is littered with Apple Antenna issues, the press release and an antitrust lawsuit against them and AT&T.  But my favorite part is the iPhone song I link to below.  It's awesome.  Sing if you know the words, "If you don't want an iPhone 4 - don't but it.  If you bought one and you don't like it - bring it back" YouTube - Song A Day #561: The iPhone Antenna Song Oh Yeah, the picture this week is of Claudius - he landed on my car.  Cool isn't he? This week is a bit shorter because I spent much of the week with software issues and lost focus on the podcast/blog.  But I do find out who Lebron James is, I go off on a rant about someone disrespecting working in fast food and I talk about how there were dead flies at my table at Chilies. After seeing a great fireworks show at Carowinds (the home of the Intimidator ) I felt as if the zombie apocalypse had started but it turned out I was just stuck in deadlock traffic trying to get out of the parking lot.  George Lucas is suing a laser company because they have a "laser" that resembles the hilt of a light saber - and I have to say - it DOES!  And is so freaking cool I may actually buy one of these. I'm sure I talked about some other crap too, but I did read a short piece by Isaac Asimov which is absolutely awesome and I have included the link so you can read it too. It's been a lazy weekend and I've spent much of the time watching movies and TV, including The IT Crowd, Middleman, Being Human (season 2), The Guild and others.  All I have to do now is sit naked in a bean bag eating pizza at the same time and I'll be up to 400lbs in no time at all!  I blogged earlier in the week about the new Harry Potter trailer and how much The Last Airbender sucked.  If you're too lazy to read (or can't read) I recap in the podcast.  Of course if you couldn't read then you wouldn't have been looking for the blogs or known to read this to know to listen to the ... never mind. Anyway, turns out technology always slows us down at first, until we get used to it. Don't believe me, check out this video of early tech support when transitioning from the scroll to the book.  Some researchers were shocked to find this out recently concerning books and the iPad/Kindle - guess they'll never learn. First of all, the proper pronunciation of the title is still under investigation. Second, this whole iPhone 4 antenna issues is BS. Not that it doesn't exist, but it's existed with most every phone every created. Hell, I've even seen warnings on the phones or in the manuals about where not to hold the phone. The people complaining don't have anything better to do or the sense to know that issue has existed since anything with antennas have existed. Any way, besides that I do talk about the sick feeling I get when I watch the new Green Hornet trailer, the happy feeling I get with crazy as fuck Tom Cruise (did that sound gay?), the noise of Social media and some other crap along way.
